IMPORTANT NOTICE

Applications for Non-Tradtional Fringe Venue (NTFV) companies will be accepted up to 12:00 AM (midnight Pacific Time) on April 30th, 2008. Applications will only be accepted online.

Fee payments (Application Fee: $35 and Performance Fee of $350 may only be made by Visa or MasterCard (to be entered below). The Performance Fee will not be charged until the company and their venue are accepted by the Fringe Festival.

Take care when providing information and proof your responses before sending. We will reproduce data EXACTLY as you send it to us - normally we do not correct improper capitals or misspellings assuming that you have included these as a marketing or artistic choice.

Note that if you are communicating using a Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail or other 'free' account, such providers often limit the use of their accounts. NON-TRADITIONAL FRINGE VENUE PLAN

Applicants as a NON-TRADTIONAL FRINGE VENUE are responsible for all permissions, costs, insurance and other requirements to provide the venue. Non-Traditional Fringe Venues come with substantial financial risk to the producing company and can be a considerable amount of work. All NTFV proposals are subject to Fringe approval. Please provide us the following information or your proposed venue.

Please explain where you are in the process of securing your Venue, what is the time frame for firming the location, how many performances do you forsee, do you have an idea of how these might be scheduled, how do you plan to staff the front of house and technical aspects of your production? NTFV participants are entirely responsible for their venue setup, operating permits, equipment, and seating and are subject to the Fringe standards and policies as are the Standard Venue participants.

     

APPLICATION AND PERFORMANCE FEE

Payments are only accepted by MasterCard or VISA credit cards.

Payment of the APPLICATION FEE ($35) will be charged to your credit card upon receipt of your application and must be approved for the application to be validated. Invalid applications will be removed from consideration.

Subsequent to their application NTFV applicants will be contacted to review their production information in preparation for confirming participation in the festival. The SF Fringe will not judge the artistic nature of the project but rather the viability of the project. When a company secures a place in the Festival as a NTFV PERFORMER the $350 PERFORMANCE FEE will be charged.

If your company secures a place in The Festival as a participant, the PERFORMANCE FEE will be charged to your credit card at that time and must be approved for the application to be validated. Invalid applications will be removed from consideration.

100% of Fringe box office earnings go to the individual companies.

For Non-Traditional Fringe Venue applicants the Performance Fee of $350 will be charged to your credit card after the Fringe Festival accepts your proposal for the NTFV performance project.

 

ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST READ AND AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING:

Fees and Notification
We will e-mail a confirmation of the receipt of your application once we get it. Payment of the Application Fee ($35) will be run upon receipt of your application and must be approved for the application to be validated. Invalid applications will be removed from consideration. If your company secures a place in The Festival as a participant, The Fringe will then charge your Performance Fee ( $350 NTFV).


Withdrawals and Refunds
All withdrawals from The Festival must be made in writing by the company's primary contact. If a company in The 2008 Fringe withdraws, notification must be received by June 13th, 2008 in order to receive a 50% refund of the performance fee. A company that withdraws after June 13th will forfeit 100% of its performance fee.

Only one application per company/individual will be accepted at any time. Applicants on the Standard Venue Wait list must withdraw their Standard Venue Application from the list if they intend to apply as a NTFV.

Companies accepted into the San Francisco Fringe Festival cannot sell or transfer their spot in the Festival to another party. If a company is found to have sold or transferred its space, both companies will be removed from the Festival and the original peformance fee will be forfeited to the Festival.

The San Francisco Fringe Festival reserves the right to cancel confirmed applications should circumstances arise which in the opinion of Festival staff would interfere with the mounting of the production or the festival as a whole.

The Festival will accept no liability for performance cancellations as a result of natural phenomena or the actions of third parties or as a result of a performance venue's suitability or lack thereof for any particular purpose. The Festival makes no guarantee whatsoever regarding the suitability of any particular venue for performance presentation. In the event of a loss of a venue (or an unforeseen loss of Festival revenue needed to operate a venue) the Festival reserves the right to cancel the performances in that venue. In such an event, cancelled groups will be placed at the top of the waiting list or they may withdraw from the festival and receive a full refund of their application fee.

Furthermore the Fringe Festival collects and processes performer box office receipts as a volunteer service only. Any liability for the loss or theft of box office revenue at any time is borne solely by the performing company.

All performing companies agree to adhere to the laws of California, US, and the policies, procedures and safety restrictions of the San Francisco Fringe Festival. All companies are obligated to act in the best interests of the Festival as a whole at all times. The San Francisco Fringe Festival reserves the right to cancel any or all performances of any performing company not adhering to these regulations.

Upon acceptance to the San Francisco Fringe Festival, participants are required to submit all requested materials and information in full and on time. Failure to do so may result in said participants removal from the Festival. In addition all promotional and publicity materials must refer to said participation as " (participating company/individual) in association with the San Francisco Fringe Festival present (Title)". No outside producers or presenters will be permitted.
