APPLICATION INFORMATION
FRIGID New York is a non-profit organization that produces an annual
festival of independent theater with the Horse Trade Group. The 2011 FRIGID
Festival will take place February 23 - March 6, 2011.
- ALL Applications to FRIGID New York must be submitted online
- The first 15 of all FRIGID New York performance slots -- local,
national, and international -- will be received into the festival on a
first come first served basis.
- The next 3 performance slots will be held for companies drawn
in the CAFF Touring Lottery.
- The final 12 performance slots -- local, national and international
-- will be selected by lottery on October 31, 2010.
- Up to 10 additional companies will be drawn for spots on the
waiting list on October 31, 2010.
All applicants to FRIGID New York must pay a non-refundable $35 Application
Fee. If a company is awarded a performance slot at the FRIGID Festival
they will be required to pay one of the following Performance Fees, based
on venue. The Performance Fee schedule is as follows:
- The Kraine Theater $850
- The Red Room $550
- UNDER St. Marks $675

ON VENUES
The $35 Application Fee will be charged to your credit card when you
apply. The Performance Fee will be charged to your credit card only if you
are selected to perform in the festival. The minimum performance fee of
$550 will be charged upon acceptance into festival, a second charge to adjust
for venue assignment will happen once you have been assigned a venue.
FRIGID New York is an open, non-juried, uncensored festival. FRIGID New
York returns 100% of the box office receipts to the performing company.
Only ONE application can be submitted per individual and TWO per company.
If an individual/company has been found submitting more than the permited
number of applications, ALL applications submitted by that individual/company
will be removed from the application process and their application fee will
not be refunded.
WHAT FRIGID PROVIDES TO YOU:
- 100% of your box office receipts.
- A minimum of 5 60-minute performances scheduled in rotation.
- One of three Off-Off-Broadway venues -- the Kraine Theater, the Red
Room, or UNDER St. Marks -- outfitted with a stationary lighting plot and
basic sound equipment. (Note: Theater assignment will be determined by
a combination of technical needs, availability, and your preferences).
- One technician per production, typically used to operate the lighting
board.
- Inclusion on the Festival website and overall event publicity.
WHAT FRIGID PARTICIPANTS PROVIDE:
- A fully prepared, rights secured, audience ready production, NO MORE
THAN 60 minutes long
- Relevant show information (i.e. technical, promotional, etc.) ON TIME
when requested.
- A set ticket price of no more than $16 (rounded to the nearest dollar)
and a second discount price for Seniors/Students/Military if desired.
- All your travel/food/ production/royalties/union fees/misc. expenses.
- ANY & ALL-additional technical equipment other than the stationary
lighting plot and basic sound equipment we provide (i.e. microphones, strobes,
fog machines, keyboards, etc.).
- Show specific promotional and publicity materials (press releases,
posters, handbills, on-site promotions and anything else that will help
draw attention to your show).
- Any technical personnel beyond the one tech provided by FRIGID (such
as stage manager or sound operator, if needed).

IMPORTANT DATES
- Applications will be accepted from Labor Day (12:00:01am Monday, September
6th) and Halloween (12:00:01 pm Sunday, October 31st) 2010, Eastern Standard
Time.
- All participants accepted by first-come-first-served rules will be
notified immediately. Participant credit cards will be charged upon notification.
- Participants accepted by lottery and 10 additional Wait List participants
will be drawn on October 31, 2010.
- Last day for participants to withdraw and receive a 50% refund of their
Performance Fee is December 14, 2010.
- FRIGID New York 2011 will take place February 23rd - March 6th, 2011.
