In the South of the 1850s, slavery was a way of life ensuring abundance
for the White folks. But some of them opposed slavery. When the wife of
one slave-owner devises a plan for the escape of her husband's slaves, the
scheme goes awry and she is tried for his murder. There is only one person
who will tell the truth, but a slave has no voice.
