5review = (I wish I could add a sixth star - these guys were great!). Clever, inciteful. Reminiscent of the "beyond the fringe" brand of theater of the l960's. INVITE THEM BACK!

5review = Two chaps with a delightful sense of humor, alternatingly playful and dark. Having been on tour "Fringing" the globe for many months now, their perspectives and views regarding cultural differences was quite delightful... and worth the $8 and the hour I had to stand (it was a standing room only evening).
The only possible drawback was the second gentleman, Mike, at times couldn't be heard. A woman standing next to me asked me to ask him to speak up (why do people always ask me to do these things?!?). I didn't. Instead, I just enjoyed what I heard, which was 90% of what he said.
They have only one performance left, Sunday at 1:00 and by the looks of things, you'd better be in line by 11:30 if you want to see them. They're worth waiting for and worth standing for.
See them!

5review = Very funny guys from the other side of the pond. This is just what it appears to be ...Stand Up comedy. There's no message: a nice break between the Fringe's heavier offerings.

5review = Great stuff; highlights were Mike Loder's impression of a shark phoning an airline with suggestions for inflight safety equipment, and Mark Scott's musical tributes to JFK Jr. and Di and Dodi. A few of their opening night jokes, based on touring experiences in Australia and Canada, were a little lost on the audience - apart from the Australian with Canadian in-laws laughing in the third row (yours truly) - so you may not hear the ones about curling and funnel-web spiders during the rest of their run. But they're skilled comics, knowing when to ditch a gag and move onto the next, and when they hit a good one they had the audience right behind them. A few interjections were parried in the nicest possible way; Mike and Mark were, above all else, bloody good company for an hour.
All in all, these Kiwis are well worth your time. And remember, eight of your strong American dollars are enough to feed and clothe a comedian for a week in Antipodean parts, so give generously.
