With the exception of the "prop" of Sisyphus -- a fellow pushing a boulder up the aisle several times, there is nothing about Sisyphus, myth or otherwise, in this production. The beginning is a jumble of what we can loosely call "multimedia events" where the director obviously told the participants to do whatever they wanted to do at the Fringe, because there is nothing tying them together thematically. The central performance is actually taken from Shaw's Don Juan in Hell. It smacks of high school/first year college theater project throughout. Albert Camus was obviously on vacation when his name was used! This was a major disappointment for me at the Fringe festival, so enthralled was I with what I was led to believe was the subject matter. P.S.: For those who came to the theater to do a group sing of "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" song, my prayers are with you for a speedy recovery.

5review = Well, I haven't seen this show, and I've missed my chance. But I get a good vibe from the postcard (Man eating cereal, man on toilet, the word "Repeat"). I hope everyone gets a chance to see it in its two additional shows, Friday and Sunday nights (note: comfy seats with opposable armrests at spacious Lorraine Hansberry), and I hope you bring it back! (I see Ecco.com is not your website. I hope the shoe people don't sue you. Or vice-versa). Email-list me, please!

5review = By far, the best of the Fringe Festival plays I've seen, Myth of Sysiphus starts out full of energy and keeps the ball rolling (literally) for a fun-filled, yet thought-provoking hour of existentialist chicanery. Just when the material starts to get heavy, some creative prop work drags the audience out of deep contemplation and into a ludicrous debate of blasphemous proportion. But, despite the philosophical subject matter, this play is fun for both kids and adults alike. Go see it with the whole family and jump at all of the many opportunities to participate from the audience - I guarantee it will be worthwhile!

5review = I really enjoyed this show. The acting was
solid. I especially liked the woman's
betrayal of the older lady, but the
Commander stole the show. The play was
visually interesting and also thought
provoking, raising for me again the
eternal question of, 'What the *hell* am i
supposed to do with myself?' Nice work! Go
see this play!

5review = Ok, this is a strange combination of things... it's mainly the "Don Juan in Hell" scene from Shaw's "Man and Superman", but then there's Sisyphus in there too... I actually kinda liked the chaos of the production. A hodge-pod of various things.... dancing, yo-yos, audience sing-a-longs, then the Don Juan scene. hummmm.....
