5review = Fun play, great interaction between all characters, fairly witty
banter, leads were excellent, the man hating lesbian cop was the best, made
a believer out of me!! Too bad if you missed it, last show was Friday.

Really enjoyed this show. Good, challenging material, which, on the whole,
I liked better than "Jeffrey." (Not that "Jeffrey" is
in the festival; I just couldn't help making the comparison.)
Thought-provoking, laugh-provoking (in the good way) performances throughout
from the leads and supporting players.
Worth seeing; catch one of it's remaining shows.

5review = Really excellent. Outstanding writing and performances, particularly
by "Vincent" and "Jana", although I enjoyed everyone.
The ending fell slightly short for me, but don't let that deter you from
seeing a wonderful play... especially if you're interested in the slam poetry
scene!

5review = A fun and interesting exploration of sexual identity, the politics
of shame, and power of methaphors. Slam, Bam, Thank You Ma'am benefits from
strong performances from its lead characters and from well written and compelling
monologues. Humor runs throughout, but is nicely balanced with the pain
that so often lies right under the surface of artistic expression. Where
the play stumbles is in the decision to place the memories and fantasies
of one character literally on the stage (to the point where to other lead
can clearly see and interact with her imagination fueled characters) without
doing the same for the other lead. Other than that, and the fact that I
ended up sitting next to a fan.. making it hard to hear.. even in such an
intimate venue... the show was insightful and entertaining. Check it out!

5review = I almost skipped this because of the title.
That would have been a mistake because it is
one of the best written and performed plays I
have ever seen at the Fringe. horehound really
nailed the poetry slam scene and some of the
attitudes that swirl through that community.
I also really enjoyed the acerbic wit and
insight into the lesbian and gay world. I had
a lot of laughs. And when the laughter subsided
there was some serious concepts left to ponder.
Recommended without reservation.
