If you want to see the work of Antonin Artaud performed, this is your chance.
The subject matter of this adaptation is the Great Plague, not the more
recent manifestations. It is a reaction to "pretty" theater.
Atomic Elroy portrays the dark Pierrot clown in black garb adequately enough,
whatever that means in a performance of such disjointed thought. I wanted
to see this to see a period piece of theatrical history, but found myself
drifting off and waiting for the end. Then again, waiting for the end was
what the plague was about.

5review = 3 scenes in this show are pretty amazing: the opium bit, the
description of the plague, and the part about Artaud's near death electroshock
treatment. The rest seems pretentious and dull to me, but maybe it's just
over my head. Mostly I was left with this question: what was he thinking,
hanging up a bunch of pieces of plastic to a voice-over reading of "Jet
of Blood?"
