5review = Funny and entertaining. The acting was great. The characters
were hillarious. The quick costume changes were brilliant. The story kind
of fell apart with an overabundance of names and subplots. I enjoyed it
when the actors started fumbling and trying to one up each other. A funny
comedy routine, but little too much fluff and not enough stuff.

This very well-polished drag act from Florida has been touring for quite
a while. With more costumes and wigs to fit in any one mobile home, author
Lewis Routh presents us with two men (!?!) who portray the entire population
of a trailer camp in the South, all brought on to a talk show to tell the
story of the murder of the Velveeta king (don't ask!). Immediately hysterical,
the true fun of these portrayals is in the second half when the strange
stories presented by the earlier characters are explained by later characters.
Doug Ba'aser and Michael Wanzie show us why drag is not just men dressing
as women. When they are portraying (?) men, they are still in drag.

in a South Georgia Trailer Park.
- Lots of laughs. Lots of fun. Campy script. Great costumes. And two
wonderful actors.
- This is a very slick, commercial show with a very fringe feel. In fact,
you can even rent them to perform their show for you (details in their
program buried amidst the numerous ads).
- The only complaint(s)? It went over the 1 hour time frame when I saw
it by nearly 10 minutes, which could have been solved by excising a lot
of the repetition of the same material (albeit, from different characters,
but after the 7th or 8th time of hearing a particular set of details with
no new spin on it, we've gotten it).
- That aside, they've put together a truly entertaining and outrageously
fun show. I laughed harder than anyone there, I'm sure and got a real kick
out of it. This is a show that could have a long run here in SF and is
infinitely better than some of the current long running shows (like Shear
Madness... blech!).

5review = A very funny show. Very well acted with an eye to the audience's
reactions. At the beginning I was amused, and by the end I was in stitches.
I highly recommend this one.

5review = Lots of laughs, funny writing, funny characters, and great costumes!
Two actors portray all the characters in (and near) a trailer park, as
they tell us the story of the tornado that destroyed the town and the murder
mystery that occured simultaneously. I felt like creating outlandish story
and character was the primary goal, solving the mystery was tacked on at
the end. However, I greatly enjoyed the conceit - each actor trading off
monologues, one actor leaving the stage while the other had another monologue,
so that the first actor could change costumes. When this is done in a one
actor play, you need a "musical interlude" or something else,
when the one actor leaves the stage to change. Here, the energy was sustained,
since the monologues just kept going non-stop. All of the acting and characters
were great, and although I thought Michael Wanzie was great, he often was
just short of connecting the audience to the joke, whereas Doug Ba'aser
always nailed it.!
Also, Doug, particularly in his woman characters and in his preacher, sounded
exactly like Kevin MacDonald of "The Kids in the Hall," and I
love the "Kids in the Hall."

5review = Truly one of the funniest and most endearing camp comedies I've
ever seen. Ten fabulous over-the-top (yet believable) characters. It's
uncanny how brilliantly two actors can play all ten roles. If you've ever
lived in a trailer park or wondered what it might be like, Tabloid takes
you there. This show ranks right up there with John Waters' "Pink
Flamingoes" as a classic. So when's the movie coming out?

5review = Non Stop Laughs! The Script is hysterical and Wanzie and Doug
make it one of the most memorable fringe experiences. I think Orlandoians
voting it Best Local Play in the last twelve months over the multi million
dollar Cirque show at Disney speaks volumes. San Francisco will love this
gem!
