ZOO STORY

Armed with a suitcase, one or two things, and her imagination, a hapless but hopeful traveler embarks on a journey. Along the way she runs into some peculiar obstacles (brought to life by the skillful manipulation of Lunitique Fantastiques Liebe Wetzel). Emily Fox won audience acclaim with her 1999 Fringe show Right this Way, Into the Fire. Returning this year with One or Two Things, Emily again deploys her comedically malleable face and body to get Frieda into and out of some very sticky situations.

Emily Fox is an actress and improvisationist. She has steadily migrated from the Deep South to the West Coast, acting, directing, designing lights and losing her accent along the way. In 1993 she began studying Action Theater improvisation with Ruth Zaporah and in 1996 Emily co-founded the improvisational ensemble Pronto Theater, which performs throughout the Bay Area. Her solo Action Theater-based improvisation, Right This Way, Into the Fire drew crowds and kudos at the 1999 San Francisco Fringe Festival. A graduate of the Dell'Arte School of Physical Theater, she was the assistant director for Daniel Stein's production of "Still Going Forward Backward" at Foothill Theater in Nevada City, CA. Emily recently performed as The Actress in Heaven's Radio, directed by Tanya Calamoneri and Allen Wilner at the Thumbnail Dance Festival.

Jerre Dye is a performer, director, writer, designer, teacher and native of Mississippi. He is a company member of Voices of the South, which specializes in original work, adaptations of Southern literature, and theater for children. With Voices of the South he is currently developing a show based on the lives of
environmentalists Olaus and Mardy Murie. As a performer his credits include Darl in As I Lay Dying, Lord Byron in Bloody Poetry, Shimon in The Dybuk, and Grivet in Therese Raquin. Jerre also performs with Lunatique Fantastique, the Bay Area's only non-verbal puppetry company.

Liebe Wetzel is the founder and artistic director of Lunatique Fantastique, the Bay Area's only non-verbal puppet company. Liebe is a graduate of the Dell Arte School of Physical Theater, and has trained with Keith Johnstone at the Loose Moose Theatre in Canada. A holder of a BA in Biology and Biochemistry from RiceUniversity, Wetzel attributes her technical precision to years manipulating test tubes and genes in a laboratory.
