Wendy Weiner, whose solo show Give Me Shelter was named "Best of the Fringe '98" and published in Women Playwrights: The Best Plays of 1998, returns with a brand-new solo show. Join her on this comic adventure which travels from the Urban Jungle of New York to the bacchanalia of Nevada's Burning Man festival. "Weiner is a marvelously expressive performer with impeccable comedic timing." - San Francisco Bay Guardian. Directed and developed with Julie Kramer.

Wendy Weiner (Writer/Performer) has performed her own work in New York at such venues as the Obie-winning downtown theater NADA, Surf Reality, HERE, and Caroline's Comedy Club. Her solo piece Give Me Shelter premiered at the New York Fringe Festival, where it was awarded "Best of the Fringe" and went on to the San Francisco Fringe Festival, where it was also selected "Best of the Fringe." Give Me Shelter was published in the book Women Playwrights: The Best Plays of 1998.
Wendy Weiner has also performed with Vanessa Redgrave at New York's La Mama Experimental Theater Company; wrote and performed with the all-female sketch comedy group of Obie-winning theater company New Georges for four years; and has worked with such Bay Area theaters as the Magic and Berkeley Reperatory. Ms. Weiner is currently cowriting a play with Octavio Solis, which they presented as a work-in-progress at Intersection for the Arts. Weiner is a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.

Julie Kramer (Director) directed and developed Wendy Weiner's Give Me Shelter in San Francisco and New York, and directed Weiner's Defying Freud at NADA in New York. She has directed at The Toyota Comedy Festival, the Aspen Comedy Festival (2001 and 1999), HBO Workspace in LA, the Upright Citizens' Brigade, New Georges, HERE, The New Group, and The Kennedy Center.
