The first half is a peach, the second half is a plum, and Pierre Stroud
is fantastic throughout. This dude has the energy of all the bulls at Pamplona,
but is much funnier than your average stampede. Nice work.

Somehow Pierre Stroud manages to pull off the impossible in this one-man
production, deftly mixing wry observations about American culture with a
riveting and deeply personal narrative about his own grandfather.
At times gut-bustingly funny and heart-breakingly sad, The American Appetite
has been the sleeper hit of the festival for me so far this year. See it
if you get the chance.

Pierre Stroud's over-the-top antics are beautifully balanced spot-on social
commentary. Sit in the front row for special treats.

He had funny moments, but my friends and I found this play too long. The
grandfather sketch needed to be edited by about 20 minutes. The seventh-grader
lecture was interesting, but...

When Stroud gets into his grandfather role, it's so funny it hurts. Great-grandfather's
"suicide" is the most wonderfully sarcastic story-telling I've
heard. This guy goes from the athletic to the decrepit with complete believability.

This is a very funny play.It took me right back to when I was in the 7th
grade. Mr.
Stroud's humor is right on target and his delivery serves the play well.
All his characters are very human. His energy is quite amazing.

I haven't laughed this hard since Rupert Pupkin in "The King of Comedy".
This is dark, insightful, almost painful humor. Pierre's body is a thing
of joy to watch as he transforms before our eyes from 7 to 70. I was quoting
lines from it to friends and then realized i was ruining the show. Go see
it, and go soon while you can still get a seat.

Pierre Vladimir Stroud's "Appetite" breaks down into two parts.
The first is his lecture, as a 7th grade teacher, of why we are a nation
of seventh graders. This is not only humorous, but low-and-behold, it is
a real lecture positing some excellent points on the thesis. "Why?"
he continually asks in his best professorial tone, as he leads us through
his reasoning. It is brilliant, informative and engaging. The second half
introduces us to his grandfather and the vagaries of growing old with spunk.
Amusing, but I would have preferred one whole hour of the opening lecture
on the Nation of Seventh Graders.
