This is a very talented troupe of performers. As with most sketch comedy
the range is from Hilarious to Huh? I'd recommend the show because at their
best, they're superb.
"Meet the Chinese Parents" and "Wossop!" are terrific
pieces, incredibly funny with dead-on performances and some heart guiding
the humor,
and "Her Quest" was a wonderful mimed departure from all the barbed
humor of the rest of the show. "Company Man" and "The O Word"
were one note jokes. They went on too long for so little payoff. Even though
I didn't think all their material was topnotch, I appreciate the talent
here and hope to see more of them.

The cast was great as many different characters, but most of all it was
funny! I loved Yan in "Yan can Mack." And the Asian homeboys in
"Wossop," were perfect.

Traditional quirky Asian parents, hard-up goofy gangstas, Martin Yan's dating
show, and a dysfunctional Korean store owner are just some of the things
you'll be able to enjoy in this one hour laugh fest. Not only will you laugh,
but you will also think of your status quo interaction with Asian America.
Lead by a strong ensemble cast, the sketches are edgy and clever. Expect
to have your laughter accompanied by the "ooohs and ohhhhs" of
the audiences' shock reaction.

This show is really funny because everyone in the group is portraying a
funny caricature simultaneously, so there's a lot to watch in each of the
fast-moving scenes. A must-see!!!

With all the Asian presence in San Francisco, why is this the only Asian
entry in this year's Fringe? Is it a difference in cultural theatrical tradition?
Or is it the don't-make-waves Quiet Asian Stereotype? OPM smashes through
with a series of hysterical skits dealing with stereotypes, the quest for
assimilation, prejudice, self-hatred-- all the topics which every subgroup
handles in order to make its points. "Meet the Chinese Parents"
is their perfect place to start. "Wossop!" asks the question who
are we when we are trying to be someone else? Leroy Chin's "Auntie"
character is very amusing. With any humor of this sort, there is bound to
be more than a bit of nervous laughter, and this is one of the major elements
which makes it work. Don't miss this opportunity to see this funny cultural
investigation.

Hilarious. Are they from Seattle? Think I've heard of 'em. Probably too
provocative for some - edgy and sexy...
