Three unlikeable characters never quite involve the audience to care about any one of them in this competitive triangle. A woman has a new lover confront the one she is leaving for him. Splitsville has reached a new low when a major point of contention is who gets the coffee table. The idea of two men "competing" for the love of a woman is feudal. Jim Stope's play is something you may want, but then again, maybe not.

I loved this play. TJ Metz rocks. He should be on the big screen, for sure. The cast really made me believe the story. Added plus was that it was only 30 minutes long!

Something you might want would be your money's worth. It's not like $8 is a lot of money for Fringe. I enjoy paying my $8 even for those shows I wouldn't recommend. However, when the program says a show is 45 min long and it ends in less than 25 min ... that's NOT something I want! Not when there were about 4 others to choose from. So, while the story was fairly entertaining, I would only recommend this show if you wanted to see what it would be like if the S.F. Fringe had commercial breaks - like television. The actors did a good job, except, if you want the audience to believe you're in love with the guy you're dumping your current boyfriend for, then for God's sake don't kiss him like he's got a herpes blister on his mouth. What was up with that?

I found this a thoughful commentary on relationships. It built from a few matter-of-fact statements to become an emotional tug of war. It was amusing, absorbing and very true to life.

Rave! This is the first opportunity I've had to witness Jim's involvement with the theater, being familiar with his writings over the years. SYMW demonstrates his arrival as a stand-up playwright. The characters all rang true; the set-up was revealed through the course of the play, reflecting a carefully crafted effort. Kudos and bravos to all involved! Gimme more!!

45 minutes? Ha! Maybe 25. Some good acting.
Very stiff blocking. I like to watch a story and
root for the good guy. All three characters were
pretty much assholes. Didn't like any of them.
Didn't care what happened to them. Just kind of
watched.

very good dialogue about the twists and turns, shifts from love to hate, bigness to pettiness, that occur in relationships. the 3 actors were all quite good with wonderful comedic timing and priceless gestures and expressions. i laughed sometimes even when they weren't speaking.

Very clever production. I particularly liked the communicative facial expressions and the tautness of the lines. No excess baggage there. Hope the writer continues to develop his work. He's got a great future in writing plays.

Very fast-paced and entertaining, and the back-and-forth manner of the dialogue was especially interesting. The actors were great, especially TJ Metz. It's only flaw was it's short length.

Good quick character development; some laughs; some though about who people are and how they relate. actors good with only moderate tendency to over act.

Amazing. The first piece, Fern, was so relaxing and then threating. Sitting on the floor of the theater, i felt safe to enjoy the sound scape around me but then the crazy woodcutter attached my senses. I really felt as if I was at the bottom of a forest being threated by the town near by. Deborah Slater's piece was fantastic: emotionally moving, excellent choreography, great video work, and fun puppetry. I felt the show had the most depth of any Fringe show I've seen so far.

The cast was thrilled to see the seats at the Exit on Taylor filled to capacity on the first night and delighted to hear honest laughter in the right places.
TJ Metz relentlessly and shrewdly drove the action as the other characters maneuvered around the cunning obstacles he in put in their way.
Kay Kleinerman's casting and direction were as excellent as the script and I'm not saying that just because I am the author of the show!
The audience had a very good time! They wanted more!
