Two vagrant thieves inadvertently summon an angel in this somewhat lopsided
investigation of the meaningfulness of "things," as well as a
somewhat sketchily drawn conflict between good and evil. Elizabeth Benedict's
play didn't work for me, although I enjoyed the performances.

Elizabeth Benedict has written an involving tale about a pair of appliance
browsers ( Benedict and Dana Kelly) in a closed Salvation Army Store, who
confront issues of Patriotism, right and wrong, and us and them against no
borders, no judgement, and no confusion over the meaning of warranties.
Benedict and her Free Range Theater Company partners create an amusing and
thought provoking offering. Pay attention to the Angle or is it Dirndle?
He/she/it (David Klatt) may not be what he/she/it seems, but he/she/it ultimately
reminds us to be mindful of what we toss out as prayers to the Universe.
Let us all be less concerned with being right, and more concerned with right
action. Bravo to writers and performers who can entertain us as they gentle
us toward open thinking.

I'm sorry to say this was a waste of my time. The dialog was silly. The
acting was hyperkinetic. I found myself constantly annoyed by everything
in this show. See something else, really.

The best thing about this play was that it was only 45 minutes long. Otherwise,
I truly regret attending. Elizabeth Benedict aspires to inform, enlighten,
challenge and entertain her audience, but she only succeeding in challenging
my endurance for the ludicrous. The script was truly terrible, and with
the exception of the angle (did you mean angel??), the acting was no better.
So far, I have been delighted by the other performances in the festival
-- so, please consider attending a different play.

A bit preachy, but a very effective lesson about the folly of seeing in
black and white.
