This is a sweet , humerous , poignent portryal of a 7 year old attempting to deal with an absent father and her mother about to wed "the loser". Quiter and more subtle than many of the works here and in truth it took me a little while to get into her character at the beginning ,but that changed once I feel into the rythem of the play. There are moments of humor and devestating poingnency , her made up story of "the little sprout" stuck me deeply. The videos interspersed through out the drama worked for me - they were funny and much like kids who wander in and out of subject allowed for time and space to pass in the main story. A COUGAR by the way is an older woman who goes after much younger men, a term that hasn't made it's way across the border from Canada to the US. Definitely worth catching this show.

A beautiful, thought-provoking and well-written play. Very nicely executed. I also enjoyed the videos, which were hilarious. Ginette has a real talent for capturing the essence of a child. A show not to be missed at this year's fringe!

This performance starts out well - the actress does a good job (both funny and poignant)of portraying the child of divorce who doesn't want her mother to remarry. Unfortunately, the theme gets diluted by the use of a number of videos, which are generally too long, not funny enough and mostly off the subject.

LOVED it. Funny and poignant. The pre-taped shorts were a hoot (classic Second City of SNL calibre...) It's a quick and enjoyable night of theatre. Very clever.

The world through the eyes of a child. This play is sweet, whimsical, poignant and occasionally razor sharp. The type of show you can reflect upon and smile.

This performance is worthy of a much larger audience as the work is a polished and thoughtful portrait with childlike vision the performer captures the true essence of a child's imagination while engaging in rendering difficult adult situations. The campy but satirically brilliant video work is inventive. The performer utilizes countless classical techniques: dance, song and a most expressive face to link the material with fine execution. Typical of the inventive scene characteristic of the avant-garde Toronto theater scene, Upper Canada Couger Movement is a winner and deserving of much support here in San Francisco.
