Three idiots, living in a world of garbage, build disguises to manipulate each other. Too stupid to control their imaginations, they come to believe their own lies and are soon caught in a fictitious but deadly love triangle. Blending carefully orchestrated multi-media with virtuosic physical comedy, the Idiot Machine ensemble performs an act of grotesque alchemy, delicately transforming Beckett's existential void into a frenetic Shakespearean farce full of big laughs. VENUE with address: The Next Stage, 1620 Gough Street @ Bush Performance Director: Owen Edson Since October of 2001, Idiot Machine has organized and hosted a monthly open-mic at Frank's Livingroom , an independent micro-theater in East Oakland. Featuring music, video projection, circus arts and poetry readings, it provides a casual, friendly environment for artists to test out new works.
