A truly EXCELLENT play- well written & performed- they could have used maybe one more stage hand- but despite that i was VERY impressed. It's amazing to see what this crew can do in one single hour- a history lesson, drama, comedy, DETAILED costumes, song & dance. Loved it.
(oh- and Holly Holmes is a babe)

This is what a "personal journey" Fringe show is supposed to be. No self-indulgent moments here. This is a tightly-written script that goes to the heart of the matter. Heidi tells her story with refreshing candor and charm as she and her fellow actors, musicians, and puppeteers perform a tale of the blood, sweat and tears of voiceless Morman women. Sometimes sad (I cried at one part), sometimes funny, always entertaining. My only complaint is that the stage was too small to hold all that marvelous talent! It's a must-see show. Get there early to get a seat, and to watch the "missionary" musicians perform their pre-show.

WOW! What a show! I don't even know where to begin! From the pre show music to the very last minute, this show is AWESOME! It is at times funny, poinyant, tittilating, disturbing, gutwrenching, terrible & beautiful. The ensemble are excellent musicians & performers & this show stayed with me for days after I saw it. It is well written & well acted & thought provoking as well as damned sexy (pun intended). If it doesn't wind up in Best of Fringe, I'll be very suprised!

The dark side of Mormonism 101, this honest investigation of Mormon women’s oppression starts and ends with a woman’s struggle to justify her inner Molly Mormon (the archetype of the good Mormon woman) with more modern definitions of “being good.” This multimedia presentation with puppets and slides (more distracting than valuable to the performance) often confused the identity and time of the characters in the author’s female lineage who are interwoven in the telling. Some very pleasant mandolin, mandola and guitar accompaniment was interspersed throughout. Even with all its unsure acting, this production delivers a heart-felt personal search of how we get to be who we are.

My compliments to Heidi. An amazing script that brings you through an unexpected emotional rollercoaster. Holly and Tisha do an amazing job in portraying their various characters. Thought provoking, sentimental. I have great admiration for Heidi and the risks she has taken in her life to be where she is today. She is an inspiration!! You don't want to miss this one!!!!

I was happily surprised by this powerhouse play! Thought it would be a one-woman show, but it was a full ensemble, sharply produced and choreographed. Gives attendees a peek inside what it has been like to be a mormon woman through history. Excellent execution, flawless delivery and lots of fun! I would highly recommend this play to all fringers!!

Very compelling story that reveals much about what women must go through in the Mormon Church in general and about what Heidi went through specifically. The performers are terrific although being the first performance, had some nervous jitters. Bound to be fantastic, instead of just great, at later shows. Go see it!

The title suggests a solo show. Instead, it's three women, three musicians, and a guy on puppets. There's a costume change every few minutes.

The truth in the story, and the likability of the performers, hold the show together.

The monologues from earlier generations tell a terrible history. What hell those women lived! (A family tree in the program would help us understand who's who.)

The story of the college-student stripper has compelling detail, like the visit from her mom, but it needs more, like the moment she got the idea. I also wish she could explain the unexplainable: Why does any woman now stay a Mormon?

The music is rousing -- the best preshow in the Fringe -- but please give us louder words and quieter music when the words are meant to contribute to the show.

I could see the earnestness of the performers and the potential for a great ensemble piece once they rehearse a bit more - I imagine their next three shows will be much tighter-and am considering seeing it again. It's a vastly entertaining and compelling concept for theater. I particularly liked the interesting way it was staged and the rapid costume changes. There were some zinger funny lines as well as a shocking bit of violence that really gave me chills.
Overall, well performed - I'd recommend it.

An excellent and inspired performance. Simultaneously Poignant, Hilarious and Disturbing. Most of all it was thought provoking, it made me use all those big words in the last sentence. I learned a lot about the mental bondage that a woman must break out of to just be excepted as a human being...plus the stripping scene is awesome! Bring a throw pillow. In closing I left "The Almost True Adventures of an Ex-Mormon Stripper and the Cursed Generations that Came Before" not only entertained, but inspired. Do your self a favor, go See this show and bring your mother.
