Well articulated character, objective, and situation. Economical use of two props (step stool and rider's crop) that are an intrinsic part of the situation. Excellent use of movement and voice. Anyone who thinks themselves an actor should see this.

A very good show. Dugan's retelling of her circus life is entertaining and moving. The show is well-directed, with energetic blocking and just the right level of seriousness to keep the entire thing from becoming comedic fluff.

Great acting and an amazing story. Funny, harrowing, and true to life--especially life in the theater!

Had no idea what to expect with this one, and it's a little bit off the beaten path, both geographically and content-wise. What it is is a one-woman monologue concerning the narrator's unexpected career move to the circus, and subsequent odyssey of training and becoming a bareback stunt-rider. Her delivery and connection with the audience is nothing short of amazing, and I found myself compelled and engaged throughout. It's a funny, sad, moving story, and when she shows slides towards the end of the people (and horse) she performed with, you feel like you recognize them, already know them. Sometimes the text was so wordy with details that I wished she'd cut some out and slow down a little, but I had no trouble following it and was grateful for the vividness of the tale. Really worthwile.
