Three interesting short plays, well acted

Ever so slowly, the writing melted goopily into my subconscious cracks-- obviously from the mind of a creative individual. Dark, yet thoughtful. He's obviously delt with suicide and/or it's tendancies.

The second of the three vignettes (although five were listed) was the best. Unfortunately, the actors (director?) he chose didn't really bring across the feelings/ideas his writing portrayed. It could have been much more dark.

I gave this show two stars because of its acting-- very sub-par. The comic book dreamer in the second snippett was worth the price of admission alone-- IRONMAN RULES!!! Also, the father, his wife-beater and his television had some curious quirks. The actors never seemed compeletely connected with their lines.

The "Director" tried to hard.

The "Date(s)" didn't try hard enough.

The "Sister" gave up too quickly.

Where were the other shorts listed in the program!?!?

Interested to see more from this playwright if he polishes his work some more.

I thought all three pieces were extremely well written. The third one was very well done (acted, directed, etc). The other two were poorly done. With a couple exceptions the acting wasn't good, and I agree with that other review that the scene changes were way too long and distracting. Cut down on the realistic set pieces in favor of clean transitions.

Three skits were presented, though five were listed in the Fringe program. The writing wasn't very good - I didn't care much what happened to any of the characters. The acting was mostly of good quality. Mark Rachel as the disappointed comic-book writer in the second skit was especially good, as was Kerry Gudjohnsen as a haughty and sarcastic character in the first and third skits.

An ambitious attempt to bring three short plays to the stage in under an hour.

My favorite of the three was the last short play, Director's Cut, in which an assistant film director convinces her director, well known for his funeral scenes, not to commit suicide but to finish the movie instead. This play is fast-paced and vibrant and ends the hour on a high note.

As for the other two plays, only Mark Rachel's vibrant acting and enthusiasm make the second piece (Ironman) worth watching. The first (Corned Beef) has a great premise, but insufficient delivery.

Also, while the comedy of the set changes between the first and second plays may be unintentional, but is a brilliant piece of absurdist theater!

Despite my comments, however, this show is worth seeing for its shining moments.

More like boiled chicken. I saw three skits and in each case, the script had some potential but the performers came no where near pulling it off.
