I wish I liked this play better. The amateurish acting and staging really took a toll on me sometime in the second scenario (there are six). I wanted it to be dangerous and subversive; instead it was grotesque and often buffoonish.

Oh my... after an skimming of the program guide i was somehow expecting a comedy... NOT... i guess the picture of a naked guy in chains having something to do with a chessmaster and opera singer threw me.

A real freakshow.

While all appear to be at sea, at least one of the all-naked all-shaved actors, a Dhami Boo, provides some spark whenever he’s on stage.
Overall this humorless misguided historical exhortation is effective only as a soporific. Excruciating. Alas, the obvious sincerity of the people who put this on makes it only more so.

Truly a ghastly, atrocious show. The script is pedantic and dim-witted, the "actors" need some beginning acting lessons, the gratuitous singing is loudly off-key, and the gratuitous nudity features some grotesque flesh that should be permanently clothed and cloistered. Well, the subject of the play is torture, so to give the devil his due, maybe this is a deliberate attempt to torture the audience. Do yourself a favor and go see absolutely anything else instead.

Premised on the historical theory that the oppressed become the oppressors, “Naked Inquisition” takes us through a series of disjointed scenes to prove its point. I was never convinced, nor was it immediately obviously why anyone (let alone everyone) had to be naked to make this point. However, when attention shifted to an understanding of sado-masochism, especially in the modern context of being safe sex in a sexually unsafe era, and a demonstration of hot wax “sex,” the true agenda of this presentation – and its value – was revealed.
