This critique may be about me, but will someone explain what alien abduction, writer's block, and lesbianism have in common? It's not that I'm anti any of the above, I just don't understand

very well directed. acting was also very exceptional. the story for me was so so. that is why I give it three stars . this may be due to my preconceived notions from what I read in the fringe mag. The ideas of multiple personaily disorder substituting the person that saved her in the woods with that of an alien in her husbands image. just not what I was looking for. Also the stuff abo ut wanting her "abducter"/savior to rape her. WTF! also the venue was not so great .. off market theater did not hold to the fringe rules. they let a person after the show had started and the guy that sold us tickets told us to go up stairs and be seated only that when tryed to they sent us back downstairs . very unprofesional. I would suggest only if you are ready to watch a person dive into their own dark corners...

This show has a rich, surprising, and disjointed script that is carefully staged to accentuate the themes of sexuality, identity, imagination, and trauma through the vehicle of an alien abduction. The play is at turns tender and bizarrely jarring -- entertaining, thought-provoking, and subtle. I recommend it highly and in addition think it would stand up well to a second viewing.

I really enjoyed this play. I has a very elegant set of themes that mix sexuality with control, science with art and the real with the unimaginable. The acting and directing are superb - Gilley and her actors are clearly a well-oiled team, and seem to effortlessly handle a script that would be a challenge for most theatre companies. In particular the balance of the emotional, visceral humanity and, well, alien-ness of it all is beautifully struck in this respect as well as in the stunning videography. I'd highly reccomend this to anyone who likes to think in the theatre.

Great show that takes a personal approach to an alien abduction story. It's as much about a relationship between a man and a woman as it's about aliens. The non-linear storyline keeps folding onto itself revealing beautiful tidbits of everyday struggles, horrifying secrets and the psychology of being captured and detained. The show was beautifully acted throughout. Not crazy about the video sequences, but I especially LOVED the voice over seduction sections. If you -like me- don't care too much for the one-man comedy hour format that most Fringe shows are taking and like good, experimental theatre, this is the show to see!
