Having seen this show last year, I didn't think I would have anything to say in the audience review section, but boy is it a different show. There are the same staple opening acts, but from there it veers off into a completely different direction. This time around, Christian shows a little more edge by being unapologetically abstract in his themes of life, death, destruction, and restoration. Unabashed in his sentimentality, it comes across as heartfelt and never heavy handed. Issues of faith and religion are addressed with an equally tender touch without feeling like a sermon. I would like to see, in the future, the whole show consisting of substantial pieces like this. Let's see what the next show holds

This show is a winner! Cagigal is immediately engaging from his first leap on to the stage to his final ìtrickî which manages to be both metaphorical and emotionally evocative. Cagigal easily wins the audience over with his personality, wit and humoróplus he has some stunning tricks that will have you grinning, gasping and laughing before the show is over. This is theatre at its best

I was very pleasantly surprised by this show. The storytelling and humor are great, and he builds rapport with the audience very quickly. Christian not only wow's you with the magic tricks, but also makes you THINK about what you are seeing.

A must-see, especially if you didn't see his fringe show last year. Complete control of his craft, and an actor's ability to tell a story. What I like best is Cagigal's ability to do "meta-magic" - to use magic to address wider human concerns of death and destruction, rebirth and transformation.
This year's show developed themes from last year's. I hope that next year he ventures into new territory - it will be exciting to see what he comes up with.

This is a beautiful, lyrical show, which takes the idea of a magic show to new heights. Christian Cagigal is a very talented actor and magician and he skillfully and subtly weaves illusion, Shakespeare, Lorca, glimpses of his life and passions, humor, and even the true tale of a Spanish emigre seamstress to reveal the truest and, in the end, the most awe-inspiring magic of all - life, and how we live and perceive it. Because Christian shows us that it's not only only about the magic tricks we see, but how we see them, and what that tells us about ourselves. A very special work from a generous, sensitive, and intelligent actor.

And I loved the "Tony Soprano"-like stage assistant! A very nice touch. The music was very good too.

I wasn't really interested in going to a magic show, but I'm glad I did because Christian Cagigal was very entertaining. He has a natural and relaxed presence on stage, which is the opposite of many magicians. And he's funny! He is more of an actor and comedian; the magic is a bonus. I wish his show had lasted longer.

I have seen many theatre productions that cost two, three, four, five times as much as Magic @ the Fringe and yet the others don't give even a fraction of the heart, humanity, truth, talent, and personal connection that Christian shares with an audience. Everyone is looking for something magical. We wish we could fly or be invisible or had some other mutant power that would define us as extraordinary. Christian made magic real for me and I can't thank him enough. Don't miss this show. You'll regret losing out on something magical... and inspiring.

Christian Cagigal is not only a talented actor and magician, he redefines the concept of a magic show by combining his formidable talents with a desire to redefine the essence of a "magic show", which he very ably does. You walk away wondering "how did he do that?", yes, but you also walk away with that feeling of warmth that true theater can give you. A beautiful show.

A great show! The magic is facinating and entertaining. Christian Cagigal is not only a skilled magician, he is also a wonderful actor. The ending is beautiful and moving.
