Hilarious and brilliant. Some of the best sketch comedy I've ever seen.
I wish the show had been longer so I could have passed out from laughing.
I felt very weak after the show from too much laughing. Not the usual kind
of sketch - way better.

From The recs of yesand.com and friends of mine in Chicago...I went to see
Old Man McGinty. First, if you do not like absurdist Sketch Comedy, this
is NOT the show for you. If you are looking for totally linear Second City
type Sketch...you have come to the wrong damn show. I personally enjoyed
the show. I can watch another six more minutes of a man marching making
happy faces to the crowd. I could go for another three minutes of holding
an uncomfortable silence with a bearded lady and a man in a fez..tragically
close to each other. Yes. I want to know more about what happened to the
mother and why the child had an obsession with bubble wrap. This in *not
everyone's cup of tea*...but as a sketch comdey show it made you sit up
and take notice and made people talk afterwards. And that to me...is what
sketch comedy is supposed to do.My Chicago peeps you rock. Now, tell Charna
to stop being a freak from me...to her.

Witty writing and wry, nuanced performing make this one of the standout
shows of this year's fringe. Like a superb omelet, it is moist and fluffy,
filled with sharp, cheddary goodness. Don't expect deep thoughts or an emotional
roller coaster, just lots of quirky humor and infectious charm.

I went to this play with no idea of what to expect, and I was pleasantly
surprised. It's funny, very funny, and very well written. It's good sketch
comedy, with a touch of the surreal, a touch of existential angst, a pinch
of repressed lust, and a lot of clever humor. If you've ever seen Kasper
Hauser, it's kind of in that style.
It's good clean fun, go see it! |
