Its San Francisco, and we're all so jaded with our own hipness and sexual ambiguities. This play tries a tad too hard to be clever, and stumbles as a result. Disappointing.

An interesting show exploring relationships with many twists and turns and quite a few laughs. There's a really wonderful soundtrack and the cast does a great job inhabiting the characters and director Christopher Jenkins stages the dance of love and lust and loss very well. Definitely worth seeing.

Upfront, I'm an afficionado of Bair's work. The direction and casting in this fun little romp through the land of metrosexuals (do we still use that term? - - or is it omnisexual by now?) is right on time. The dialogue cleverly exposes this troupe of intrallecktual hedonists precariously poised on the edge of their objective reality and the subjective power of their mixed up emotions. If you are confused about love and life, come join the rest of us at "Brilliant Disguise."

Some interesting writing in this new take on the inevitable, eternal, dance of the relationships. The first half is witty, quick, and well-written, though in the second, the comedy is dampened by too many monologues. Still, it is rare to see something new on offer about primal attractions. Good direction by Christopher Jenkins and performances by a skilled cast. Recommended!
