Well done. A bit too much "pause for effect" for me. And he seemed to just want to show off his singing, dancing and storytelling without gelling them into one solid show. But with a little work he could have a real winner on his hands.

a sincere actor delivers a charming and heartfelt show, the first section that happens in mexico is full of mystery and interpretation, movements, awe, music, images of dancing figures and transformation. the show then segue's without warning to the last twenty minutes about his breakup with his ex girlfriend and his/her feelings and psychological workings to feel okay about himself. i felt kind of wierd that we had left mexico without explanation to never return, and were left with something more like a personal journal entry than what had beckoned for the first part of the show. the ending feels like its not there as we never get back to mexico and the show is called border crossings...that said, i really like his acting and felt the presentation was entertaining and expressive.

This guy is great. What a presence. Solo shows arn't really my cup of tea, but Mr. Huddle really took over and occupied the stage. His physicality was really strong, and tender and aggressive at the same time.
but then half way through the show we were not in mexico any more, and suddenly it wasn't quite as interesting. The lyrical quality of the first half gave way to some sort of confessional about guilt over a girlfriend and Mexico was nowhere to be seen. I would have tied it back to the journey in Oaxaca, where there is so much beauty and magic to call apon. I'd still tell people to go see this though, I was very moved at times.

He can tell stories, dance and sing at the same time! Rick Huddle is master of all these arts, esp. storytelling. His show is filled with humor and wisdom and always entertaining.

In case you missed the curriculum in Relationships 101, this is a brief, heartfelt foray into that territory. Mr. Huddle is an accomplished entertainer, and he held my attention throughout most of the show. I was only disappointed that he didn't delve into the subject a little deeper, and somehow the epiphany or catharsis that you expect in this kind of show didn't materialize for me. But...maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention!

I loved this show. It really spoke to me about love and what it takes to tear down that wall we all put up to keep us from connecting to another person. I think this performer will have great success with this show in other Fringe Fests in the future. I also got the chance to meet and pend some time with him after the show and think he has an outstanding sense of humor that he uses to help bring that message across.

We've all been there at one time or another. Rick weaves a wonderful story of self-awareness and discovery that he brilliantly ties together in the end. A solid performance that leaves you thoroughly entertained while thinking about your own experiences.

Rick Huddle is a story teller with a difference. He sings, he dances, he mimes...and he's so cute, that when he mimes you don't want to throttle him. His energy, passion, and love for storytelling comes leaping to life in this unique show. Do yoursself a favor; get to know Rick Huddle, and go see Border Crossings.

Rick Huddle weaves several stories into this one man performance. He held our attention throughout as he seemlessly moved through stories and characters. He is very at ease in his movements whether he is riding a subway or dancing in the moonlight. A fine performance and a great way to spend an evening.

I liked this show so much I saw it seven times in Portland. Rick Huddle is a master storyteller who holds you in the palm of his hand and takes you on a journey into the human heart. There is truly something for everyone in this show. Must see, in my humble opinion.
