FACTS FOR SF FRINGE FESTIVAL VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers are essential to the success of the San Francisco Fringe Festival.
They do box office, work at the hospitality desk or as ushers. Each volunteer
works three 4-hours shifts over the course of the 12 Day Festival. Each
venue has a Fringe staff house manager who provides support for box office
volunteers and ushers. To sign up as a Fringe Festival Volunteer please

JOB DESCRIPTIONS
Box Office Volunteers greet audience members, sell them tickets and reconcile
the cash received. Ushers take audience tickets, hand out programs and help
keep the venues clean between shows. Hospitality Desk Volunteers answer
phones and questions, provide information, sell discount passes (Frequent
Fringer Passes), Fringe t-shirts and Totes and provide general Fringe support.
TRAINING
Box Office Volunteers are required to attend one training session before
they work their first shift. This time will be considered your first shift
and you will be eligible for Fringe benefits at this time.Ushers and Hospitality
Volunteers will receive all the training necessary at their first scheduled
shift.
FRINGE BENEFITS for Volunteers
All Volunteers receive a Fringe badge which enables them to see Fringe Festival
shows on a seat available basis (seats not sold to audience members or reserved
for media).Volunteer requests for seats come first, before staff or other
performers. All volunteers will also receive a 2007 SF Fringe Festival T-shirt.
In order to see a show you must stand in line with other audience members
and when you reach the Box Office you will show them your badge and they
will put you on the list for seats available and ask you to step aside and
wait until they call your badge number.
TIP: Get to work early in the festival
and get your badge early. The most popular shows will sell out by the end
of the Fringe and you want to see them early on.
DRESS CODE
There is no dress code but we encourage you to wear your Fringe t-shirt
whenever possible.
