Incorporating multimedia (text messaging, emailing) to illustrate the many simultaneous conversations and dialogues we have at any given time, "It Is What It Is" (IIWII) is the story of three adult, estranged siblings who reunite at their father's death bed. In doing so, it comes to light how our old memories shape the people we become, and how -- consciously or unconsciously -- we shape new experiences to become memories that will project ourselves as the people we'd like to be. CAST ROBERT ANTHONY PETERS ("Boy") has performed in more than twenty theatrical productions in NYC, LA, and San Francisco. Recent theatre credits have included Estragon in WAITING FOR GODOT. Robert has been featured in THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS (acting alongside Will Smith), and HARRISON MONTGOMERY (starring Martin Landau). DUANE SCHIRMER ("George") was last scene on stage in the Dark Room's re-creation of The Gong Show in an act entitled "Rocky & Bandit Do Marty." Needless to say, he was gonged every performance. He can also be spotted in the award-winning short, "Back Issues," and pops up from time to time in the internet sit-com "Break a Leg." COLIN STUART (Peter) has lived in many places around the globe, including India and Iran, but feels most at home on the west coast of the US. He has pursued acting in Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles, and has even caught it on occasion. He is also writer, a singer, a guitar player and an ardent promoter of limericks. CREW Playwright DIANE KARAGIENAKOS can be found most nights -- on one side of the bar or another -- doing what she loves most: telling and listening to stories from all walks of life. She has been active in the SF independent filmmaking community for many years (credits listed on http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2331061/), and won Best of SF Fringe 2004 for "Come Fly With Me Nude" (www.comeflywithmenude-movie.com). Technical Director DAN GOMES is a veteran of the San Francisco independent and fringe art scene. His credits include the 2005 Best of Fringe show, Come Fly With Me Nude, and the feature length film of the same name. Dan is currently penning the final scenes of his latest feature film project, "Farther", which is due to go into preproduction in early 2009. Production Manager CARA NEWMAN returns to her Stage Manager roots after having last stage managed "Come Fly With Me Nude" in 2004's SF Fringe Festival. Other technical credits include Sacramento's Music Circus and American River College, and countless independent films. By day she is a teacher, writer and small apartment decorator. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
