FRINGE LOTTERY
All Standard Venue Performers will be selected by lottery. There will be a separate drawing for each regional category (Local, National and International). All applications received by 12:00AM (Midnight) January 25th, 2008 will be entered in the lottery; any application received after this time will not be accepted. Any technical difficulties with online submission (ie. servers, site, email etc.) will not exempt you from complying with the deadline - so please do not wait until the last minute. We will confirm receipt of application via email once it is received. The Fringe lottery party performance is at 7:00 PM on Wednesday February 1st, 2008, at EXIT Theatre 156 Eddy St. in SF. Applicants, company members and friends are invited to attend and everyone is welcome. For those unable to attend notification of participation status will be available online at www.sffringe.org by February 5th, 2008.

FRINGE WAIT LIST

If a Standard Venue Performer is unable to participate in the Fringe Festival then the next performer on the wait list will be offered that spot. If they accept the spot their $475 Performance Fee will be processed. If they do not accept the spot then the next performer on the wait list will be offered the spot.

REGIONAL CATEGORIES
To be considered a Local applicant your Company must be based in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. To be considered a National applicant your company must be based outside of the greater San Francisco Bay Area. To be considered an International applicant your company must be based outside of the US.

TICKET REVENUE

The San Francisco Fringe returns 100% of the box office earnings to the individual companies and provides all front of house staff (i.e. house managers, box office, ushers) for Standard Fringe Venue participants. Each company sets its own ticket price (rounded off to the nearest dollar) up to a maximum of $9. The Fringe Festival sells a limited number of discounted Frequent Fringer passes to promote shows and encourage the audience to see more shows. Fringe performers receive $6 for each patron that sees their show using a Frequent Fringer pass. Their is a surcharge on advance ticket orders and frequent fringer passes. Just before curtain any non purchased seats will be given at no charge to Fringe volunteers, staff, and other Fringe performers in that order.

TECHNICAL PRODUCTION
All Festival performances start on time and there is no late seating. There is a 60 minute time limit for Standard Venue performances. There are only 30 minutes between all performances, which means fifteen minutes to strike the show that just ended and fifteen minutes to set up the next production with the audience being seated concurrently. Be simple and creative with your set up and strike to include it in the theatrical experience.

Venues are equipped with basic lighting and sound and each company will receive a 2 hour technical rehearsal. We will provide companies with information on their venue so that they can be as prepared for this technical rehearsal as possible. The Fringe provides one technician in each Standard Venue to run lights and/or sound. All companies must supply one Production Stage Manager to call your show, any additional crew operation staff, and enough crew to set up and strike your show. Since there are some technical limitations in the venues, it is best to focus on the content of your play and try to keep the technical/production values as simple, imaginative and as compact as possible. THE VENUES PROVIDE NO STORAGE. Sets, props and costumes must be removed after each performance.

OUT-OF-AREA PARTICIPANTS
Out-of-Area Participants, like locals, are responsible for all aspects of production, as well as travel and accommodation expenses. We do not have a billeting system for out of town performers.

PUBLICITY
Each Fringe Company is expected to provide its own show-specific publicity. The Fringe provides general festival publicity and your production will be listed in the official Fringe Program and on our website. Companies are asked to submit promotional materials online (photos, releases, bios...) to the Fringe.
