BIOS: Mike Ward, Director
Mike Ward (director) won the Critics Circle Panel Award for Best Director
at the Fringe Marin for BLESSING HER HEART and later was nominated for Best
Director/Bay Area Award (BAY AREA CRITIC's CIRCLE) for the same play. For
the SF FRINGE FESTIVAL, Mike won "Sold Out at the FRINGE" award
for Edward Albee's COUNTING THE WAYS. Mike worked with Albee at the Old
Globe, and he collaborated with Tony-Award winning playwright, George Furth.
Mike was assistant to comic legend Elaine May (on a project with Marlo Thomas)
and has worked with a number of high-profile artists, including Academy
Award winner Stephen Schwartz. He has 11 credits with the respected company
TheatreWorks and has participated in major companies, including Lincoln
Center Theatre, Pasadena Playhouse, San Jose Rep, Eugene O'Neill Foundation,
and the Magic Theatre where he was artistic associate for two years.
Diana Brown: (RED)
Last November, Diana performed the role of RED in the world premiere of
BLESSING HER HEART in the Marin Fringe, winning a special to the festival,
Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Jury award for Best Actress and a nomination
for the 2008 Bay Area Critics Circle Award for Best Solo Work. Her stage
credits include Elizabeth in the NYC and SF premiers of DEAD CERTAIN, Inez
in NO EXIT, and Lucifer in the world premiere of THE DEMON POPE. Diana is
a member of the improvised theatre companies Tilted Frame, and Radiostar.
Adrienne Krug (RUBY):
Adrienne recently played Grandma in THE AMERICAN DREAM with Boxcar Theatre
and Linda Loman in DEATH OF A SALESMAN at the Hapgood Theatre Company. Other
Bay Area credits include Dina in the world premiere of Nicky Silver's PAST
PERFECT at Theatre Rhinoceros, and work with the Magic Theatre, New Conservatory
Theatre, Willows Theatre Company, Bus Barn Stage Company, Virago Theatre
and Pacific Alliance Stage Company, among others. Adrienne has also performed
at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, and in a showcase production of CUSTER
at the Manhattan Theatre Club. She studied acting at Vassar College and
the National Theatre Institute.
Susan Jackson (Plawright, Mrs. Peallin)
Susan won the Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award for best original play
in a small venue--(BLESSING HER HEART, Marin Fringe, 2008). Several of her
plays have peen produced at the Exit Theatre, City College of San Francisco,
and the Marin Fringe. She has acted with Palo Alto Players,Capitola Playhouse,
and Dean Lesher Performing Arts Center in leading roles in WIT, THREE TALL
WOMEN, and WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? She directed Lee Meriwether in
LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT at City College of San Francisco, where she
teaches acting, directing, and playwrighting. She is a Board Member of the
Eugene O'Neill Foundation.
