Winner of "Best Female Solo Act" and "Best of the Fringe" in the 2008 SF Fringe for her show, The Punchline, comedian Alicia Dattner is back with her newest theatrical show, Eat, Pray, Laugh! Eat, Pray, Laugh! is about Alicia's solo trip across India searching for spiritual salvation--and what she finds instead... Alicia dishes on everything from seductive French yoga teachers to scary Indian toilets. Hear about her stowaway train adventures, laughing flower gurus, the Italian fashion exporter with a Krishna fetish, meditating in mountain caves, temple-hopping on the backs of motorcycles, pony-sized mosquitoes, dubious palm readers, Chabad Jews on the Ganges, and the true meaning of masala chai. "A kaleidoscope of brains, vulnerability, cockiness, humility, guts, humor... wow. Truth. Also, totally inspirational." -Rick Tweed http://www.aliciadattner.com Alicia Dattner has been performing standup comedy for over ten years, sharing the stage with many funny, talented comics including Bill Santiago, Eugene Mirman, Arj Barker, Ryan Stout, W. Kamau Bell, Vanda Mikoloski, and Amy Stiller. She has performed at Cobb's Comedy Club and The Punch Line The Improv in San Francisco as well as the Knitting Factory in Hollywood, Gotham Comedy Club, and Ha Comedy Club in New York. She belongs on Letterman, Leno, Ellen etc., Come see her so you can tell your friends you saw her before she was famous!" -Marsha Stevens "Alicia's shows are by turns hilarious, poignant, painful - and shot through with an unflinching honesty. Seriously great, she is incredible and took risks that I think no performer who isn't a stand-up would have dared. And even then most would have shied away. Wonderful stuff." -George Corrigan "It may be just a matter of time till she's well known. Until then, Alicia is one of the funniest, non-famous comedians I have ever seen. And I know comedy. When I was a kid, my dad owned a comedy club on the Laff Stop circuit. I grew up watching artists like Jeanine Garofalo, Ron White, and Chris Titus get their start. I can't wait to round up bunches of friends for her shows about town. ...join us!" -Bryan Neuberg "Hilarious, and brilliant, and gorgeous and amazing." | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
