One girl's thoughts on past love, family tragedy, and YouTube.
Anne couldn't control who she fell in love with, but should her mother be
allowed to? As a child Anne played make-believe and hide-and-seek in her
attic. Now, on the eve of her wedding, in her favorite hiding space, she
discovers something that has been hidden for years that changes everything.
Through her memories and video diaries Anne pieces together the answer to
the question, "was it all real?"
Sometimes playing pretend is the only way to live the reality you want.

Written and Performed by Chloë Ariane Whitehorn
A graduate of Queen's University's theatre and film departments, Chloë
Ariane Whitehorn lives in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and has worked with theatre
companies on both sides of the border as an actor, producer, and recently
as an award-winning director. Chloë is intrigued that the trend in
the types of roles she is being offered has lately shifted away from mentally
unbalanced characters to queens (most recently Eolande in "Collide",
Calpurnia in "Julius Caesar", and Penelope in "The Odyssey"),
and she takes this as a sign that the world is viewing her in a more mature,
regal way. Past favourite roles include: Jackie-O (The House of Yes), Fairy
May (The Curious Savage), Ophelia (Hamlet), Solange (The Maids), and Gina
(Club Chernobyl). She is thrilled to be premiering "The Frank Diary
of Anne" to a U.S. audience in the city she was born in at the San
Francisco Fringe Festival. For more information visit www.chloewhitehorn.com |
