Mathematics: F, Geography: D, Biology: D, German: F........a disastrous report card, a frustrated single mother, a boyfriend who dumped her.....All of this is just too much for beautiful but depressed puppet-girl Luna. She is fed up with her life and determined to commit suicide. After several attempts, she faces unexpected obstacles. However, these plans do not derail her from her plan! Will she succeed....? Suicide Me! is a deeply emotional and darkly humorous one-woman puppet show for adults. It is performed with few words, using minimum decor. It invites the audience to identify with Luna's quest for liberation from the manipulative forces in her life.
Iris Schleuss, a German puppeteer, creator and solo performer of this
piece, studied puppetry at the Figurentheater-Kolleg in Bochum, Germany
and the "Center for Puppetry Arts" Atlanta,Ga.USA
As a puppeteer, she has worked for TV/ film and stage. She has also performed
various characters for several TV productions such as "Sesamstrasse"
(German - Sesame Street), Käpt'n Blaubär and Haselhörnchen,
as well as for the movie, "The Never Ending Story III"
She founded "Theater Blickwechsel" and has toured Europe with
her Company to perform puppet shows, object- and shadow theater for both
children and adults alike. "Sex & Crime & Calosoma Sycophanta",
a shadow show for adults, counts as her most outstanding production.
She has also worked on several theater productions such as: "The Killer
Condom" by Ralf König, or Cornelia Funke's "Dragon Rider"
(Junges Theater Bonn)
She is also a director. One of her productions, "Maiger's Wirsing"
(Kölner Künstler Theater), received a Jugendtheater- NRW award.
She continues to enjoy conducting workshops in puppetry.
