5review = Loved the concept, but it wasn't as well held together as it
could have been. If you are a shakespeare fan this would be good to see,
but I'm not much of one myself so I got a bit tired of the shakespeare
bits. I enjoyed the analysis between, and would have loved more of that.
It got a bit scattered at parts, but it's not without merit. If you're
a bard fan - go and see.

5review = First off,two technical suggestions-A bust of Shakespeare might
be more effective to talk to than a blanket with "Will Power"
on it. The piece also needs a wrap-up of some kind to cap it. The Shakespeare
cheer at the end gives it a hearty ren-fair quality that's out of whack
with the rest of the show's sophisticated tone. Overall I thought it was
a very well written piece. It needs some creative editing to flow better.
Focusing on the Mum's is an inspired idea and I would have liked to see
more exploration on that theme-Why are the mothers so ignored or evil?
Did the fact that boys played the roles have anything to do with it? Was
it simply an Elizabethan attitude? And how do we as a modern day audience
reconcile antiquiated attitudes like this? Of course we don't know, but
the fun is in speculating. On the flip side, less time on filler characters
like Autoclyus would strengthen the through line. Characterizations can
be sharper and there could be more energy in g!
eneral for the piece. As it stands the piece
is a good intro to Shakespeare,( and some lesser known plays!)and would
make a great essay, and with some more workshopping will be more worthy
for the stage than the page.
