5review = It's hard to evoke nostalgia without slipping into sentimentality,
but Probst succeeds. The characters are clearly delineated, and the focus
is firmly on the friendship between Etta and Anna; "Buckeye"
remains a character in *their* story, rather than a subplot that threatens
to take over. A wonderful piece of theater.

5review = I've seen this piece evolve over two earlier versions, and this
one (to quote Probst's character "Etta") has "the lightest
crust yet." Riveting, funny, moving, and wise.

- review = The writing + acting voice felt so authentically Midwestern.
I looked forward to meeting each character. Jan made me believe in each
of her characters. I was right there in the kitchen. Spare, Charming, Touching.

5review = Pretty good acting, though the transitions from character to
character were sometimes a little unclear. Low-key reminiscence was pleasant
but not gripping. Moving at the end.

emotionally flat, like the Midwest.
