FRONT OF HOUSE
The San Francisco Fringe Festival handles all ticket sales for Fringe shows and provides a staff house manager, a volunteer box office person and ushers. Advance tickets will be available on line July 15th. Best way to direct folks is to send them to the Fringe web site, www.sffringe.org. Please add this to your promotional materials and listings. The Fringe sells up to 75% of tickets in advance and holds 25% for door sales which are cash only.
PRESS, PROGRAMS AND PRESS KITS
The Fringe publicist will provide complementary tickets to press (and a companion). Press should contact the Fringe publicist Ariel Craft at firstname.lastname@example.org to request comps. You may want to prepare a program for your show. Typically the program will have bios of the cast and crew, notes from the playwright and/or director, and any information that would be helpful for the audience (ie. setting, time, etc.) The press kit should have additional information that would be of interest to reviewers — more background, press pictures or links to pictures (ie. your photo page on the Fringe website), etc. Bring your programs and/or press kits to the theater for each performance and give them to your house manager. You will not be able to leave them at the theater.
All companies will receive complimentary tickets at your technical rehearsal. They are for the specific dates and times of your shows. Comp Tickets are NOT reserved seats but a voucher for that performance only. The Comp Ticket is handed in at the box office to get a ticket if seats are available. The box office opens 30 minutes before curtain so be sure to tell them to get in line early as the seats are not reserved. You are responsible for getting these to your guests. You cannot leave them at the box office. Each venue, depending on size, has a specific amount for each performance, please see below. NOTE: If there is someone that ABSOLUTELY HAS TO SEE YOUR SHOW, your best action is to buy them an online ticket. They will then be guaranteed a seat (assuming they arrive by show time since there is no late seating).
NUMBER OF COMP TICKETS
EXIT Theatre, 80 seats, 6 complimentary tickets will be available to the company for each of their scheduled performances
EXIT Stage Left, 49 seats, 4 complimentary tickets will be available to the company for each of their scheduled performances.
EXIT Studio, 36 seats, 2 complimentary tickets will be available to the company for each of their scheduled performances
MEDIA COMP requests should be sent to the Fringe publicist Ariel Craft at email@example.com We will hold these at the box office. We also will give media a pass to see shows but cannot guarantee a seat unless they make a reservation with our publicist.
PERFORMER COMPS FOR CAST AND CREW
The cast and crew of Fringe shows can see other Fringe shows for free on a space available basis. Fringe cast and crew should stand in line to put their name on the wait list. Shortly before show time, if there are seats available, the box office will release the seats to first, any volunteers on the list, then second to staff on the list, and then to performers, on a first-come, first-served basis.
FREQUENT FRINGER TICKETS
The SF Fringe sells a 5 show, $45 and a 10 show Frequent Fringer Pass, $85.
These are limited and in our experience help fill empty seats. You will be paid $8 for each Frequent Fringer Pass honored at your show. These are available in advance on line and at the EXIT Café Hospitality stage.
REVENUE PAYMENT POLICIES
All Cash ticket sales will be paid to you the day of your performance.
Please have someone from our company check in with the house manager during your show to pick up your cash sales. If this is not possible you can pick up the cash sales when the show that follows you has begun. The Fringe will not pay out cash sales while the box office is open, but only during your show or during a following show.
All Advance ticket sales and Frequent Fringer sales will be paid by check and sent out by October 10th to the address listed on your W-9 form which you will be given at your technical rehearsal and must hand return in order to be paid.
The SF Fringe Festival depends on volunteers. If you are interested in helping please go to our website and sign up, www.sffringe.org It’s a great way to network with the Fringe community as well and let folks know about your show.
BEST OF FRINGE
Each year at the end of the Festival, the Fringe presents one show from each venue as a Best of the Fringe choice. This is an additional performance for each company and tickets are $20 with a 50/50 split with the Fringe. The performances are scheduled on Saturday, Sept. 23rd at 7 PM in the EXIT venues. There are also other Best of Fringe awards announced at our closing night celebration at 9 PM that night at PianoFight, on Taylor between Eddy and Turk, right around the corner.
The SF Fringe Program has some space available for companies to put in an individual ad to promote your show. Below is more information. If you would like to place an ad in the program you need to reserve the space by Saturday July 30th and have your artwork to us by Wednesday August 3rd.
