Not Until They’re Dead is a dark musical’ish comedy where truth-telling, clown, and dance come together to reveal the sometimes nightmare journey of being raised by human beings. We seek to bring the audience with us on a journey – prancing and stumbling along the fragile line between the public and the private. From the creators of Bend the Rules Eat the Head, SF Fringe Best of 2015.
Alice Moore (Co-creator) has been performing professionally in musicals and plays around the country for years with companies including: the Thrillpeddlars, the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, the SF Diva Fest, The Jewish Theater of NY, the SF and NYC companies of Tony and Tina's Wedding. She is one of the co-creators of Crepuscle (The Original Inspiration for the Tony-Award winning Broadway Musical: “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”). Alice is a graduate of Boston University School for the Arts and dedicates her performance to all the people whose parents are super dark and super loveable.
Micael Bogar (Co-creator) is thrilled to be returning to San Francisco Fringe with the Malice Mogar Co. and their premiere of Not Until They're Dead! Her show Bend the Rules Eat the Head was awarded SF Best of Fringe 2015. Micael is one of the original members of the San Francisco Neo-futurists and a clown. She has traveled internationally with Clowns Without Borders and studied at Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre. With a long background in street performance and social theatre, Bogar seeks to integrate truth-telling with physical comedy. She currently performs with Naked Empire Bouffon Company.
Em Lee Reaves (Director) is an experimental theater artist. A recent transplant from NYC, their work has been seen at La Mama ETC, Ontological Hysteric Theater (artistic director Richard Foreman), Incubator Arts Project, and Brooklyn Museum. They were a collective member and resident artist at the Silent Barn (www.silentbarn.org) as well as co-artistic director for The Neo-Futurist performing with all 3 companies in NY, Chicago, and San Francisco and taking their work to theater festivals in New Delhi India, Edinburgh Fringe, Adalaide Australia Fringe, and Melbourne International Comedy Festival (www.neofuturists.org). Katie Rubin (Creative Guidance, Feedback and Support) In addition to her work as a Commercial, Voice Over and Regional Theater Actress (with recent credits from The Aurora, Marin Shakespeare, Capital Stage, and Sacramento Theater Company), Katie Rubin is a nationally touring solo show performer, stand up comic, and director. She is currently teaching Acting at A.C.T, Improv in the Continuing Studies Department at Stanford, and has directed professional productions for Big Idea Theater, The Elephant Stages in Los Angeles, and at Saddleback College. She has directed dozens of teen and young adult shows at theaters across the country, as well as 4 professional Solo Shows in The Bay Area.
