This is only for site-specific work, work that cannot be performed in a theater.
The San Francisco Fringe Festival is a premiere opportunity for Indie theater artists to produce their own work and earn 100% of the Box Office. As an open access festival we invite all to apply. The Fringe is a highly competitive opportunity to present a professional, audience -ready, rites secured production.
For Local Bay Area Artists and Companies, please do not apply if you are not available to be scheduled for performance during the entire 16 days of the festival, Sept. 6 – 21st and be scheduled for a technical rehearsal sometime between Sept. 1st-4th.
For Non Local Artists and Companies, please do not apply if you are not available for performance for a minimum of 10 consecutive days of the festival and an additional day for a technical rehearsal on either Thursday Sept. 5th, or Monday September 9th.
This year’s lottery for Standard Venue applicants will include 4 categories, Local (25 slots available, either 60 or 90 minutes) and Non-Local, (10 slots available, either 60 or 90 minutes).
Please note: If you are a company from outside of the United States you will need to supply proof of your legal right to work and earn money in the U.S. Under the current U.S. immigration policies a work visa takes at least 6 months, is expensive and is not guaranteed. We recommend you look into this before you apply in order to make an informed decision about your ability to secure a work permit. Please note the San Francisco Fringe Festival is not able to secure this for you.
All Non Traditional Fringe Venue applications (NTFV’s) must be for site specific work.
